My research areas and studies

Since my undergraduate years, feminism and gender, motherhood and women's studies have been my research areas. In my Gender and Media MA at the University of Sussex, I worked on marriage programs in Turkey and the representation of women in the media for my thesis.

I studied motherhood in my master's thesis in Clinical Psychology. During my master's degree, my article titled "The Effect of Perceived Stress and Religious Attitude on Life Satisfaction in Generation Y" was published in the journal Spiritual Psychology and Counselling. In the same year, in my graduation project that I wrote as part of my Foundational Existential Analysis training, I examined the understanding of motherhood and femininity in Simone de Beauvoir's philosophy through her novel "The Mandarins".

I gave a presentation titled "Existential Feminism as a Tool For Rebirth in Therapy" at the 5th European Existential Therapies Conference held in Istanbul in May 2024. I talked about how we can build a bridge with feminism to make therapy practice a more egalitarian and safe space.

Phenomenological
Dreamwork

I hold 6-week long online dreamwork groups since November 2024. The principles of my dreamwork are based on the works of Medard Boss, Erik Craig and Gayle Delaney.

If you are based in Istanbul, you may also join face-to-face groups that will last for 12 weeks. You can contact me for further information.
